Who We Are
“Our goal is to create a beloved community and this will require a qualitative change in our souls as well as a quantitative change in our lives.” -Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
About Our Founder
Sundal Ali (she/her/hers) has over a decade of experience working with historically underserved communities impacted by systemic violence and inequities. She has created and overseen programs to serve youth and adult survivors of sexual violence, specifically those impacted by sex trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation. Sundal’s work has focused on the intersections of structures that force marginalized communities into systems of dependency and prevent access to quality education and opportunities to break cycles of intergenerational poverty and trauma. She has worked in non-profits and large urban institutions to lead organization-wide efforts to increase awareness of how to best work alongside underserved communities, develop culturally responsive and trauma informed services, and build leadership and staff capacity to foster inclusive and safe environments for both staff and clients. Sundal is a skilled facilitator, coach, and program developer with a strong race equity lens and public health background; she has experience facilitating difficult conversations with a wide range of professionals including law enforcement, executive leadership, and program staff. Sundal was awarded the 2019 Samantha Dean Rising Star Award and is currently the President-Elect for Texas Association Against Sexual Assault Board. She holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Public Health from George Washington University.
